Camille Nelson - Press Release

Updated: Oct 30, 2019

Camille Nelson, a musician specializing in acoustic-driven folk music, will be releasing her latest album Sacred Lullabies with Phoenix label Heart Dance Records on August 23rd. Blending elements of folk, classical, bluegrass, Christian and new age music, Sacred Lullabies is a collection of both intricate original acoustic guitar melodies and traditional and original hymns, along with six vocal arrangements featuring a variety of unique and talented singers, including Alex Sharpe (formerly of Celtic Woman), Madilyn Paige (of Season 6 of The Voice), Kimberly Knighton & Britney Holman, Stephanie Madsen and Catherine Bohman. Camille’s brother, Matthew John Nelson, joins Camille performing violin on the beautiful rendition of New World.

Ms. Nelson has fond memories as a young child, of her mother singing to her as she laid her down to sleep. It created a calming effect and helped her to feel peace. Her new album, Sacred Lullabies, has the intent of instilling that same sense of peace that Camille felt as a child in those that listen.

Camille was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and started violin at the age of 6 and guitar at the age of 15. She draws musical and creative inspiration from her travels abroad. She’s visited more than 70 countries, integrating a uniquely multicultural perspective into songwriting following years living in South Africa, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. Recently married, Camille is currently residing in the beautiful country of Switzerland.

In 2009, Camille released her debut album, First Words, under the independent label known as Dimmi Records, later earning a publishing contract for more expansive television and film placement. In early 2017 Camille signed with Stone Angel Music, working with Trevor Price as the engineer and producer for her Billboard charting album Lead Me Home.

Sacred Lullabies is now available for pre-order on iTunes, Amazon, and Bandcamp.

There will be two CD release parties in Salt Lake City at Deseret Book locations – Aug 23 from 4-6 pm at 468 N 990 W. American Fork, UT 84003 (ph 801-756-1680) and Aug 24th from 4-6 pm at 1110 E Fort Union Blvd. Midvale, UT 84047 (801-561-8777). For details on the album release parties please visit:
