Gary Schmidt is an award-winning pianist and composer originally from Quebec, Canada, and based in Loveland, Colorado. Trained in the tradition of classical performance, he is a versatile musician whose style is best described as intimately contemplative and meditative. In 2016, Schmidt released—with production from Will Ackerman of Windham Hill—his debut album of original music for solo piano titled Landscapes from the Heart, which went on to win One World Radio’s award for “Best Piano with Instruments.” His sophomore album Even for a Moment would again be nominated for this award in 2018.
